Created from a 300-year-old oak, this piece reinterprets two symbols — light and sacred text. The carved oak wings rise from a base shaped like ancient Torah pages, while nine candle holders form a full Hanukkiah: eight flames in a horizontal line and the central shamash elevated above them.
The natural structure of the oak preserves the organic curves and grain shaped by centuries. When lit, the composition radiates a warm, steady glow and evokes the idea of illumination, memory, and spiritual ascent. It functions both as a sculptural artwork and as a meaningful ritual object that connects history, faith, and nature.
The wood comes from three-hundred-year-old oaks that grew in the historic lands where Napoleon passed during his 1812 campaign and wrote a letter to Josephine.
