Wild Herd
A wild natural force, a living stream, the power of eternal movement - these are the associations evoked by the sculptural composition 'Wild Herd.' The artist's creative imagination transformed a fragment of a wooden trunk, horse figurines found at a flea market, and natural gilded coral into a full-fledged prairie, a distant desert land where graceful wild horses reign. Should one attempt to tame them, or is it better to leave the laws of nature untouched?

The sculpture is made from a weathered fracture of a two-hundred-year-old oak branch. The surface is treated with wax and gilding. It features coral, pieces of antique Italian stained glass, as well as candles and chrome-plated horse figurines.
