This sculptural composition is created from the dry trunk of a century-old spruce. Using the natural split of the wood, the scene evokes Mount Sinai and the hands of Moses lifting the Tablets of Stone carved with the Ten Commandments. The surface is treated with wax and gilding, giving the piece a solemn and reverent presence. The base is crafted from Siberian larch, chosen for its strength and symbolic depth, reinforcing the biblical and historical character of the work. This artwork was presented at the Central Synagogue in Moscow during the Tu BiShvat celebration. Old Jewish Prayer Book (Hanukkiah) Dimensions: 32 x 7 x 16 in Weight: 20 lbs This piece is crafted from a section of a 300-year-old oak that grew on historic land in Russia, where Napoleon’s troops passed in 1812. Seven candles rise above the composition, giving it a warm and ceremonial glow. The artwork carries the depth and energy of three centuries.
