CALVARY
This artwork is made from a part of the trunk of a 300-year-old oak. The composition is based on a New Testament episode depicting the path Jesus Christ took while carrying the cross. The candles symbolize the light He brings to our souls.

On a deeper level, the “Way of the Cross” is a road filled with enduring hardships and trials.
This fragment comes from an oak that witnessed important historical events: in 1812, it stood as Napoleon Bonaparte’s troops passed through this area, as confirmed by historical records and archaeological findings. In the autumn of 1941, this was the site of the defense of Moscow.

The piece carries the powerful energy of three centuries and has been presented at numerous exhibitions.
