Created from a 300-year-old oak, this work features wing-shaped fragments carved from the outer trunk and a rotating central disk showing two historic symbols: the Double-Headed Eagle and St. George the Victorious. Candles placed along the wings enhance the sense of movement and lightness. The oak grew on historic land in Russia, where Napoleon’s troops passed in 1812. Its age and provenance give the piece a strong cultural and symbolic presence. The sculpture stands on a solid oak base shaped as a symbolic book.
The wood comes from three-hundred-year-old oaks that grew in the historic lands where Napoleon passed during his 1812 campaign and wrote a letter to Josephine.
