Gold Fish
This is one of the most extraordinary pieces in the collection, crafted from the preserved outer section of a three-hundred-year-old oak tree that once grew in a historically significant area near Moscow—land deeply connected to the events of 1812 in Russia.
In the intricate, organic contours shaped by nature itself, one can clearly perceive the form of a mystical fish, gracefully “gliding” through imagined ocean depths. It’s hard to believe that this sculpture was once part of a mighty oak trunk, which withstood the forces of nature for centuries and may have “witnessed” none other than Napoleon Bonaparte.
The interior of the piece is softly illuminated by candlelight, awakening a delicate interplay of shadows and reflections.
This is not merely wood — it is time, frozen in form, transformed into light.
