This sculpture is crafted from the root of a centuries-old oak tree that was struck and charred by lightning. Its natural vertical rise and twisting shape echo the silhouette of Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, creating a sense of height, motion, and upward energy. Two oil candles emphasize the dramatic texture of the lightning-burned wood. A coral detail adds contrast and a touch of organic elegance. The stand is made of Siberian larch. The surface is protected with wax and lightly gilded to highlight the natural structure of the oak root.
The wood comes from three-hundred-year-old oaks that grew in the historic lands where Napoleon passed during his 1812 campaign and wrote a letter to Josephine.
