WING OF THE ANGEL
(ASTEROID-001)
Dimensions: 39.8 x 16.9 x 31.9 in
Weight: 92.6 pounds
In Christian symbolism, wings represent the light of the sun, refinement, and closeness to the heavens. They are a symbol of the divine mission.
With lit candles, the Wing of the Angel transforms into a mysterious cosmic body, possibly an asteroid.
This work of art carries deep symbolism and is created from a branch of a 300-year-old oak that grew in a historically significant location — on the banks of the Nara River in the Moscow region. In 1812, Napoleon Bonaparte’s troops passed through here, and in the autumn of 1941, it was part of the defensive line of Moscow.
The wood of this oak holds the traces of centuries, memory, and energy absorbed through the ages.
The unique relief of the work is highlighted by the light from the candles.
The base is made from a solid piece of Siberian larch.
